More Scrapbooking...

As I mentioned a few days ago, I have a TON of scrapbboking pages that I would like to share on my blog.  I have used some Stampin' Up! supplies but not much.  I did these pages waaaaaaay before I became a demonstrator and didn't have awhole lot SU stuff.  I am so far behind on my scrapbooking.  These pictures were taken when my oldest daughter was just 3 1/2  months old.  She is now 6 YIKES!

Supplies: card stock that can be used in SU colors:  pumpkin pie, bravo burgandy, old olive and yoyo yellow.

Pizza Box

Sooooo, Like many of you,  I have seen these little pizza boxes all over the internet and FINALLY decided to give it a try!  I am a HUGE fan of boxes.  I LOVE to make boxes.  I just wish I had more time to make them.  Here is the totally simple box I made using the Sherbet Designer Series Paper.  All I needed was a 6x11 piece of card stock and VIOLA, look what I came up with!  I love the brightness.  It really is cute in person!

A Little Box...

Here is a box I made to store a few 3x3 cards.  I really like the way it turned out.  It was very simple to make and I plan to make many more.  These are great for little gifts to give to those that ya just don't know what to buy for, or they make the perfect little thank you gift.  The ideas are endless.  You can also put a pair of earrings in here, or a bracelet, money, etc.  Could someone please let my husband know of these ideas, lol...

Happy Father's Day...

Happy Father's Day to all you special Dad's out there.  I hope my Dad has a wonderful Father's Day.  We will be celebrating Fathers Day at my brothers house this year.  We'll have lots of good food and wonderful company!  Happy fathers Day to my hubby too!  We love you and hope you have a GREAT day! 

A Scrapbooking page to share

I was a long time scrapbooker before I became a stamper and waaaay before I became a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.  Sooooo,  I have a ton of scrapbooking pages that were completed with non Stampin' Up! products.  Because of my dedication to Stampin' Up! I never displayed any of my scrapbooking pages on my blog.  I really struggled with this becase I am very proud of the hard work that I have done and whats the point of crafting if you can't share it with others right?  Sooooo, I have decided to show you pages that I have created over the past few years.  Most of the pages are of my kids when they were younger.  For example, the picture below is when my oldest was 2 and my youngest was just 5 months old (her first Christmas).  They are now almost 6 and 4.  Ok, so I'm a few years behind, lol... I am trying to keep up and as I run of of my ENORMOUS stash of non Stampin' Up! stuff, I intend to replace it ALL with Stampin' Up! merchandise.  Don't get me wrong, I have PLENTY of SU stuff, it's just the pages that I will be showing you are pages that were created long ago.  I hope you enjoy!  and THANK YOU for stopping by!  Your time is GREATLY appreciated!

Your Day...

Here is a card I made quite some time ago.  I forgot to post it to my blog.  Actually I have several cards I have forgotten to post.  I made this for a swap and really like the way it turned out. It's bright, vibrant and can be used for both male or female.  I hope you like it!

All Supplies Stampin' Up!

Card stock: brilliant blue, only orange, old olive, and whisper white.  Stamp set:  Celebrate and boho backgrounds.  Ink: old olive, brilliant blue and only orange.  Accessories:  gold brads, corner rounder, scallop circle punch, 1 1/4 circle punch, and tab punch. 

Lots of Personal things going on...

I want to apologize for not posting in so long.  I have had a rough few weeks.  First, I had to wrap up last minute parties and picnic's for my daughters kindergarten class.  I had the pleasure of going on a field trip with her and her classroom, attend a class picnic and attend her 1st Grade Open House.  Lets just say that alone about put me over the edge.  While all of this was going on, I developed an eye ulcer that had me in the emergency room twice.  YUP, twice.  I have never in my life experienced something so painful and I gave birth twice!  After about a week of complete misery I am finally feeling better.  Tomorrow I think I can finally put my contacts in AND wear makeup, Ahhhh...  I've been almost 2 weeks with no make-up.  YIKES! 

THEN to top it all off, Tuesday my daughter came home from her last day of afternoon kindergarten.  As we were walking home from the bus stop, she reaches in her backpack and pulled out this handful of candy her bus driver had given her.  I thought to myself, hmmm, better sneak that out of her back pack when she's not looking.  She had some of those Brach peppermints and a few jolly ranchers.  Well, to make a super long gory story short, my daughter ended up swallowing one of the candies whole, and started to choke.  I tried several times to give her the Heimlich but nothing would come out, in a panic I ran her over to my neighbor to see if she could help us but she wasn't able to get the candy out either.  Alivia just kept screaming, mommy I can't breathe, she turned a few colors of red and blue, her eyes started to swell and bile started to come out of her nose and mouth.  At this point I called 911.  They were pretty quick in getting here I THINK, I say I think, because it really did seem like it was forever.  The Paramedics were able to get her to calm down and she quit crying and finally quit gagging.  I think because of all of the bile that came up, it sorta melted the candy and completely cleared her airway. Her poor little face and neck are covered in red and purple blotches.  The Paramedics said the blotches are broken blood vessels from her choking.  I had to take her to her Doctor yesterday and they said the blotches will heal over the next few days or weeks.  I have never in my life witnessed someone choking on ANYTHING, let alone my one child.  Talk about a helpless feeling.

I share this story with you because in the midst of the end of school year hype and all the treats the kidos get from teachers and bus drivers, PLEASE STOP and take the time to remove all hard candy from your children's back packs.  I NEVER let my kids have hard candy, I don't like them having peanuts, I still cut up their grapes (my kids are almost 6 & 4), the Easter Bunny doesn't even bring them jelly beans at easter time, this was one of those situations where she took a piece of candy, while I was in another room and thought it was alright to eat it.  I should have removed the candy immediately, but I was overwhelmed by all of her kindergarten drawings, her report card, and not too mention my little girls is moving onto 1st GRADE,  =(  (insert sobbing here, lol).  I Thank GOD that she is ok and realize things could have been much worse.

Teacher Appreciation Cards...

And last but not least, the cards I made for each of the Teachers and Staff members at my daughters school.  I made these in celebration of Teacher Appreciation week (held last week).   These were fun to make.  They are 3x3 cards and I love the stamp set used (Trendy Trees). Candy Bar Holders Part 2...

Yesterday I shared with you the Hershey candy bar holders I made for the Teacher and Staff members for Teacher Appreciation week (held last week). Here are a few more of my favorites.  I hope you enjoy.... 

 

 

Don't the colors in the Designer Series Papers look yummy with the Hershey candy bars!  Hmmm, makes me want one........

 

 

Hershey Candy Bar Holders...

Oh my, did you happen to see just how many Hershey candy bar holders I made for the teachers and staff members at my daughters school?  Holy moly I made 38 of them.  I have to laugh because when I originally volunteered to make these for Teacher Appreciation week, I thought I only had to make 14 of them.  When I attended the PTO meeting and went over the candy bar holders and the number I was going to make, the school Principal and president of the PTO said "oh no, we will need more than that."  They wanted to make sure that all Teachers AND Staff members received one.  I thought that was so nice of them.  Soooooo, as you can imagine I had to get my hiney in gear and get cutting designer series paper.  They were fun to make and yes a lot of work, but definitely well worth it...... 

 

Here are a few of my favorites.  I was originally going to make them all them same but that took the fun out of it.  Each Teacher has their own personality so I made several holders to suit everyone's personality.  Hopefully they enjoyed them.

A Few Scrapbooking Kit questions and answers...

I have heard that some of you have questions or concerns about the $75 Scrapbooking Starter Kit.  Some have thought that you can only sign up to become a demonstrator with the Starter Kit only if you want to be a scrapbooker.  This is NOT true.  You can purchase the Stampin' Up! $75 Scrapbooking Starter Kit whether you have plans to scrapbook or stamp, it's for anyone who wants to become a
demonstrator in order to purchase their stampin' supplies at a discount.
 

Also, remember, you can make cards with a Simply Scrapbooking Kit, you don't have to
scrapbook with it. There are lots of ideas and great uses for our Simply Scrapbooking Kits.  In fact, several of you may remember the class I held where we used half of a Simply Scrapbooking Kit and made birthday cards along with a box to store them in.  The ideas are limitless. AND when you become a demonstrator you will have access to the Stampin' Up! website for Demonstrators only.  This is where you can find tons of samples and inspiration.

Teacher Gifts....

Ahhhh, what a wonderful week it was at my oldest daughters school.  As many of you already know, last week was Teacher Appreciation week.  I was the Chair person for the Teacher and Staff Appreciation Committee.  We celebrated our teachers with a full week of yummy goodies and lots of spoiling... Here is a picture of the gift I made for my daughters teacher.  I must say, it truly did look better in person.  I hope he enjoys it.  He has been such an inspiration not only to my daughter but to me as well.  It's hard when your first born starts school.  There's such a learning curve involved, both for my daughter and I.  In fact I still get teary eyed when the bus drives away from our house with her on it... I keep telling people it's just separation anxiety,  Many say, oh that's normal, she'll get over.  Can you imagine the look on their face when I tell them it's me I'm referring too, lol... I can almost bet that when this school year is over he will be one happy man doing the happy dance knowing that there will be no more communications with me...  

 

Here is a picture of the card I made him as well.  I included a quote inside the card  that said  "The mediocre teacher tells.  The good teacher explains.  The superior teacher demonstrates.  The great teacher inspires.  ~William Arthur Ward.  I thought it was very suitable fo him!
